How to prepare for esophageal and gastric scintigraphy

Patients must not eat and drink anything six (6) hours prior to their appointment.

Patients must bring orange (grapefruit, lemon) juice with them, preferably with pulp. If they are allergic to citrus fruits, another acidic juice must be brought, such as cranberry juice.

An examination lasts for 30 to 40 minutes. Patients will be given the results of an examination after an hour.
